HISTORY OF THE WALLISERKANNE
1945
Otto Aufdenblatten builds a chalet on the west side and a bowling alley on the first floor. It now houses the Pfisterstube.
1934
Emma and Otto Aufdenblatten buy the restaurant 'Chemin de fer' and the apartment on the 1st floor.

1940
The 'Chemin de fer' becomes the 'Walliserkanne'.

1957
The brothers Armand and Hugo Aufdenblatten take over the Walliserkanne.
"Dancing Walliserkanne" on the ground floor until 1971
1966
The brothers open a cozy raclette restaurant on the first floor.
1991 – 1994
The terrace on the 1st floor is expanded and enlarged to 65 seats.
1992
Refurbishment of the house above the restaurant creates 3 floors for living.
1994 – 1998
Disco Dance Garage (1994-1998)
1971
On the first and second basement the dancing becomes the place to be in Zermatt.

The walls in the Dance Garage tremble to the beat of the latest techno sound.
1998
Alex and Andreas Aufdenblatten take over the Walliserkanne. The disco becomes 'Il Ristorante'.
2000
The raclette room is being "gently" renovated in order to preserve its character. The comfort for guests and employees is improved.
2002
The Pfisterstube gets renovated in autumn 2002.
2003
The restaurant and the raclette room are being embellished once again.
1961 – 1971
from 1961until 1971 the guests "grumble" at the goat bar in the basement.

The siblings Katharina and Johannes Aufdenblatten-Imahorn build the house in the traditional Valais architectural style with a restaurant on the first floor.
